Thermoforming

Thermoforming is a technology that uses very high heat to compress the surface into a piece of foam. This method creates a permanent deformation. This process leaves the surface with a unique texture. For example, waffle patterns, a unique text or logo can be designed here.

The benefits of thermoforming

Possibility to create an individual structure in the surface
Thermoforming can form an aesthetic and stylish surface
A thermoformed surface can contribute to an improved acoustic absorption capacity
Leaves the surface more durable

Thermoforming creates your unique expression

Thermoforming allows you to create an individual structure in the surface of your material. Here you can create anything from a surface studded with large or small studs to unique surfaces consisting of company logos or a guiding text. Therefore, thermoforming can create the right aesthetic and stylish surface to suit your company, but it also contributes, for example, to the improved acoustic absorption of PUR foam. Thermoforming leaves the surface more durable than an untreated surface. B6 offers thermoforming on sheets up to 1,500x1,000 mm. The typical approach is to first thermoform a larger sheet, then mechanically cut and pack smaller items.

PURPOSE

Using thermoforming, you create the possibility to design unique and decorative surface structures on the absorbers. In this way, the surface also becomes particularly durable.

We only offer thermoformed solutions with our UV resistant foam qualities, as otherwise the colour will change over time.

UV resistant qualities are, for example: Polyester C035, as well as Basotect foam.

AREAS OF APPLICATION

When we use a UV resistant foam we can create a sound absorbing material, which, for example, has your personal company logo on, or a descriptive text.

Applications could be, for example:

  • On speakers (visible surfaces)
  • The back of office furniture
  • Other technical applications

You can choose whether you want whole sheets or B6 cut to your measurements.

ALTERNATIVES

We can recommend our B028 (polyether) if you want a more effective sound absorber. However, you should be aware that B028 is not UV resistant.
